1)
Scripture teaches that there is only one God, but He exists as the trinity
(three distinct persons who are all equal in power but yet have distinct roles).
God the
Father
– Spoke all things into existence for His glory and is the sustainer of
everything. His only purpose is His glory and He has sovereignty created
everything to happen so that He would be given praise.
Jesus
Christ
– The perfect reflection of God the father, made flesh. Jesus walked on earth
as fully man and fully God at the same time. He was born of a virgin, lived a
sinless life, and is the only perfect sacrifice for our sins. He rose
physically from the dead & and will one day return to earth to reign forever
with those who are His.
The Holy
Spirit
– Is a
person who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He
guides believers into all truth and exalts Christ. He brings about new birth,
indwells, comforts, intercedes, and gives us spiritual gifts.
2)
We
believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God. We view all 66 books
as the written Word of God. It is the power of God that brings salvation to
everyone who believes. It was written by human authors under the supernatural
guidance of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, as originally given, the Scriptures are
free in error in all it teaches.
3)
Humans
are created in the image of God, but each of us have a sinful nature that has
caused us to fall short of God’s perfect standard. Therefore man is fallen,
sinful, lost, without hope, and fully deserving of eternity in Hell aside from
salvation in Jesus Christ.
4)
In
scripture we find that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides
the only way of salvation and forgiveness of sin. Salvation is a gift of God
and is not of works. Salvation comes through confession and faith in Jesus
Christ as Lord and Savior. Through this confession, we are made right with
God. Biblical salvation is characterized by a changed life and growth.
5)
The
Church has been created by God as a place where all believers are united for the
purpose and glory of God. The church is not a religious institution or
denomination. It is committed to the teachings of Christ, the commands of
scripture, and taking the gospel to the world. Scripture clearly states that all
members of the church must be actively committed to a local church.
6)
We believe in the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. This includes the
resurrection of the dead and the translation of those who are alive; the
judgment of the just and the unjust; and the fulfillment of Christ’s Kingdom.
On that day the church will be presented faultless before God because of the
suffering and triumph of Christ; all sin purged and its effects on us forever
finished. |
